Job Title: Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Traffic Engineering to develop and maintain trusted adviser relationships with local, statewide, and regional clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead teams of engineers, project managers, and designers in all aspects of design, plan preparation, and analysis for transportation infrastructure, roadway, highway, and interstate safety and mobility assessments, analysis, and improvement projects.
  • Deliver projects per agreed to plan, budget, program, and quality objectives.
  • Lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team and provide technical guidance and oversight for the design for transportation projects.
  • Check work progress and identify changes of scope and additional services.
  • Staff mentorship and development is a responsibility, as well as the development and overseeing of budgets and schedules.
  • Be a visible and an active member of the New York and New Jersey transportation community through professional organization involvement, client engagement, and attending public meetings.
  • Participate in Emerging Technology (EV, ITS, CV/AV) projects and pursuits regionally as opportunities arise.
  • Support Highway Safety Investigations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 15 years of traffic and/or roadway design experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey and/or New York required, and PTOE certification highly preferred.
  • NJDOT, NYSDOT, and/or other regional client experience is a must.
  • Demonstrated supervisor and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and presentation skills, public speaking ability, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong track record of overseeing successful project delivery.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and conduct multi-tasking efforts.
  • Have the drive to be a leader in the company and in the professional community.
  • Possess strong engineering judgment with a strive for quality and financial excellence.
Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $143,831 to $224,647.

Michael Baker International offers a hybrid/flexible working arrangement with offices in New York City, Newark, NJ, & Hamilton, NJ.
