Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Specialist I to join our award-winning team. As a member of Prime Healthcare, a Top-15 hospital system in the United States, Lake Huron Medical Center is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Perform waived, moderate, and highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, Bus. & Prof. Code Section 1204.
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
  • Follow established quality control policies and procedures in documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and correct the issue or notify a supervisor.
  • Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods.
  • Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
  • Ensure that testing of proficiency testing samples is performed in the same manner as patient samples.
Requirements
  • Meet the requirements of Standard; Testing personnel qualifications.
  • Hold a current license issued by the State in which the laboratory is located, if such licensing is required.
  • Have a degree of skill commensurate with education, training, or experience and technical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year hospital laboratory work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
