Position Overview
The Body, Chassis, Interior (BCI) Quality Team is in search of a Supplier Compliance Pilot to join our efforts in ensuring that all project quality objectives are achieved, managing launch schedules and deliverables, and facilitating the transition to quality volume production.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Validate product and process design and assembly at the geometric level for quality assurance fixtures management.
- Engage in the creation of the geometric monitoring plan for the assembly line.
- Oversee the convergence of geometric quality during the industrialization phase prior to mass production.
- Report on component and assembly quality concerns, participating in resolution activities between design, part conformity, and manufacturing.
- Conduct analyses, identify quality optimization strategies, define pilots for each issue, and facilitate communication to ensure conformity to BCI KPIs.
- Applicants should be proficient in reading part dimensional data and resolving interior fit and finish challenges.
- High-level presentations will necessitate strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and effective communication.
- This role will coordinate activities with other organizational units such as HMI, Corporate Quality, Supplier Quality, and Perceived Quality in relation to Interior Execution.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials/Chemical/Civil/Aerospace) from an ABET accredited institution.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in automotive sectors related to Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and/or Product Quality.
- Familiarity with APQP/PPAP and Supplier Quality Manual.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis, metrology principles, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Understanding of defect resolution, escalation processes, and follow-up procedures.
- Comprehension of metrology principles, statistical analysis, and process control.
- Insight into vehicle design, assembly, and process control.
- Awareness of tooling and in-plant processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Capability to formulate an action plan and drive procedures for issue resolution.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to meet deadlines while working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to develop action plans and drive issue resolution procedures.
