As a key member of our communications department, you will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of a strategic vision for integrating Generative AI technologies into our workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Lead the Implementation of a Strategic Vision: You will work closely with our AI experts and technologists to identify opportunities for leveraging Generative AI in our communications department.
- Develop and Leverage Relationships: You will establish and maintain relationships with technical leaders in Generative AI across the Lab and effectively share our communications department's expertise in leveraging Generative AI.
- Lead a Cross-Disciplinary Team: You will lead a team of subject matter experts in graphic design, video production, public affairs, technical writing, editorial, social media, printing, and displays to identify ways to enable creative storytelling through leveraging Generative AI.
- Investigate and Evaluate Emerging Trends: You will investigate and evaluate emerging trends and advancements in Generative AI technology to ensure our department is adopting best practices and using the right tools.
- Foster a Culture of Innovation: You will foster an environment that encourages experimentation, noble failures, and continuous improvement in the adoption of Generative AI technologies.
- Partner with Communications Strategists: You will partner with communications strategists and Generative AI experts across the Lab to help APL staff understand the Lab's data security and legal guidance around the use of Generative AI.
- Identify and Manage Relationships: You will identify and manage relationships with partners within and outside of APL to ensure our staff have access to enterprise-level Generative AI technology.
- Establish Performance Metrics: You will establish performance metrics for Generative AI solutions used by the communications department and regularly monitor their effectiveness in meeting departmental goals.
- Partner with Communications Department Resources: You will partner with the communications department resources to build and deploy Generative AI solutions within the communications department.
- Develop and Lead Training Sessions: You will develop and lead training sessions and workshops for communications department staff to ensure seamless integration into workflows.
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in data science, AI research and development, computer science, mathematics, engineering, communications, or a related field.
- Experience: At least six years of experience in a field related to data science, AI research and development, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Generative AI Experience: At least one year of experience heavily leveraging Generative AI.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading cross-disciplinary teams in dynamic and high-energy environments.
- Collaboration and Independence: An ability to collaborate effectively and operate independently, setting priorities and balancing needs in a fast-paced organization.
- Portfolio Management: Experience managing a portfolio of work, including managing budgets and forecasting future needs.
- Communication Skills: Ability to develop clear and compelling reports and presentations.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance.
