Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a qualified individual to take on the role of National Guard Retention Specialist. This position is integral to the Recruit Sustainment and Retention Quality Control (RSP&RQC) support services contract, which is a nationwide initiative designed to minimize training pipeline losses for Recruit Warriors preparing for Initial Entry Training while maximizing retention of the existing force.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize government systems to track retention metrics at the Unit, State, and National levels.
  • Stay informed about retention incentives, initiatives, and programs available to Army National Guard Soldiers.
  • Analyze attrition and retention factors, developing strategies to reduce attrition risks.
  • Assist Commanders and leaders in emphasizing retention through policy guidance and organizational support.
  • Enhance awareness of retention performance metrics through strategic communication with stakeholders.
  • Conduct standardized evaluations of Unit retention activities, analyzing data and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Create training and improvement plans to continuously enhance retention programs.
  • Support Unit Sponsorship initiatives to improve the transition experience for Soldiers.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of Soldier Retention Counseling throughout the Soldier lifecycle.
  • Effectively use Retention Management Software (RMS) to monitor and report on retention objectives.
  • Develop visual retention dashboards for leaders using RSM metrics.
  • Provide insights on retention performance, attrition rates, and recommend improvements.
  • Support ongoing Retention Accreditation Programming to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Advise RSP Clerks on retention programming to ensure understanding and awareness.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A favorable Tier 1 Background Investigation.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience; or an Associate degree with 8 years of relevant experience; or a High School Diploma with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Military Recruitment, Retention, and Attrition management.
  • A solid understanding of Army retention processes and factors influencing Military attrition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military leadership experience and training.
  • A Graduate Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as SHRM.
