Position Overview:

This is a full-time role, operating on a 1.0 FTE basis during the first shift. The schedule includes Monday through Friday with day hours, along with rotating weekends and holidays as required. Hours may be adjusted based on departmental needs.

We are looking for a:

Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist (MT) - Microbiology

Responsibilities:
  • Guide laboratory personnel daily regarding workload management, operational policies, and procedural adjustments.
  • Conduct a range of laboratory tests from routine to complex levels, utilizing specialized scientific and technical expertise.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making capabilities, work autonomously, and undertake teaching and training responsibilities as necessary.
  • Engage in advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and resolution of laboratory issues.

Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum - A Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree must encompass at least 60 semester hours or equivalent, including:
  • 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR
  • 24 semester hours comprising 6 in chemistry, 6 in biology, and 12 in any combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
Preferred - A Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) or a Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum - Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory with a focus on relevant skills.
Preferred - Three years of experience in a clinical laboratory with a focus on relevant skills.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Technologist in Blood Bank, or Molecular Biology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent body is preferred.
