We are seeking a Medical Technologist to perform routine to complex lab testing in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, and at least two years of level 1 trauma hospital laboratory experience or similar size hospital. Additionally, the candidate must have one year experience in clinical microbiology lab and culture reading and gram stains experience. The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution, as well as taking on teaching/training responsibilities as needed. The position requires ASCP Medical Technologist certification and the ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills. The traveler must have a permanent address outside of 50 miles from Madison and meet all minimum requirements listed below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine to complex lab testing
  • Bring forth specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential to perform lab testing
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
  • At least two years of level 1 trauma hospital laboratory experience or similar size hospital
  • One year experience in clinical microbiology lab
  • Culture reading and gram stains experience
  • ASCP Medical Technologist certification
  • Permanent address outside of 50 miles from Madison
Work Environment:

The Medical Technologist will be working in a hospital setting, specifically in the clinical microbiology lab. The position requires the ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
