Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a Community Health Worker I/II/III to join our team. As a Community Health Worker, you will play a vital role in managing relationships with patients, local community-based organizations, and community members to provide education, resources, and health education.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary outreach and implementation team that uses a community-based participatory research approach to support and educate the community through individual goal planning, case management, and group education and support.

You will design and implement outreach materials and interventions, and mentor and supervise CHW I or CHW II. If you are passionate about community health and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach to individuals, communities, service providers, and groups
  • Identify and recruit individuals, families, and community groups to services and systems
  • Educate health and social service systems and providers about community perspectives and cultural norms
  • Facilitate cross-cultural communication among individuals, communities, and health/social service system workers
  • Responsible for the translation and cultural adaptations of resources and educational materials
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED plus two (2) years of general experience in community outreach, education, case management, and administration experience
  • Must enroll in a certified CHW Training Program within 45 days of employment
  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years of general experience in community outreach, education, case management, administration experience
  • Completed certified CHW training program
  • Mastered all CHW Competencies for Level I
