The Technical Project/Program Manager will spearhead and oversee intricate technology initiatives aimed at enhancing retail operations through the utilization of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role necessitates close collaboration with diverse teams, including IT, development, and business units, to ensure that projects are delivered successfully and align with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct the planning, execution, and successful completion of technology projects on GCP, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget constraints.
  • Industry Insight: Leverage extensive knowledge of the retail sector to inform project strategies, prioritize tasks, and deliver impactful solutions that fulfill business requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work in partnership with business executives, IT personnel, and other stakeholders to clarify project specifications, manage expectations, and effectively communicate progress.
  • Technical Direction: Offer technical expertise and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring GCP solutions are architected and executed following industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Proactively identify potential risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage resources, including team members, vendors, and budgets, to guarantee successful project outcomes.
  • Process Enhancement: Promote continuous improvement initiatives to boost project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in technical project management, with a strong emphasis on GCP and cloud solutions.
    • Demonstrated experience in the retail sector, with a solid understanding of retail operations, systems, and customer engagement.
  • Technical Proficiencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud architecture, API development, deployment, and management.
    • Familiarity with retail systems such as POS, eCommerce platforms, inventory management, and customer analytics.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GCP certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Developer).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning applications in a retail environment.
