Nurse Specialist, Outpatient Surgical Services

Overview:

An Outpatient Surgical Services Nurse is tasked with delivering exceptional patient care within the surgical environment. This role encompasses the entire patient care process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, the Registered Nurse is responsible for delegating, coordinating, and supervising the surgical team members to ensure optimal patient safety. The Outpatient Surgical Services Nurse is equipped to provide both direct and indirect care to patients.

Qualifications:

A. Education and Skills

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or possess an equivalent qualification.

B. Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience is preferred.

C. Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations

Must hold a current RN license in the State of Texas.

AHA BLS certification is required.

AHA ACLS certification must be obtained within six months.

PALS certification is required within six months.

CNOR certification is preferred.

Medication Competence must be achieved within two (2) weeks of employment.

Computer Competence must be demonstrated within four (4) weeks of employment.
