Position OverviewRole Summary:

The Surgical Services Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care within the surgical environment. This position involves comprehensive patient management through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for delegating, coordinating, and supervising the surgical team to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  2. Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the surgical team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
  3. Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to any changes in status.

Qualifications:

A. Educational Background:

Completion of an accredited nursing program recognized by the State Board of Nursing.

B. Professional Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience is preferred.

C. Licensure and Certifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is also required within six months of hire.
  • Certification in Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) is preferred.
  • Medication Competence must be achieved within two weeks of employment.
  • Computer Competence is expected within four weeks of employment.
