Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Supervisor to join our team at Northern Light Health. As a Pharmacy Supervisor, you will be responsible for the training, supervision, and coordination of daily tasks performed by pharmacy personnel. You will assist in inventory control, provide communication to interdisciplinary partners on medication-related matters, and manage other aspects of the clinical and operational services provided by the Pharmacy Department at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule for the enterprise Remote Order Verification (ROV) and Outreach programs
  • Oversee training, standardization, education, and quality metrics for the ROV and Outreach programs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Pharmacist staffing schedule at EMMC
  • Coordinate the orientation training program and associated competencies for new pharmacy employees
  • Assist pharmacy leadership with the dissemination of information both internally and externally to the department as required
  • Support other pharmacy leadership team members in the preparation of the department budget as well as short and long-term strategic planning
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other department managers to ensure pharmaceutical services are optimized for all patients ranging from newborns to the elderly
  • Participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures; assist with development and implementation of projects and programs to accomplish established department goals
  • Utilize knowledge and understanding of underlying operational issues to provide assistance and support to the Director of Pharmacy and Operations Manager in administrative problem-solving, project planning, and management, and development and execution of department programs and projects
  • Either provide direct oversight or assist in the supervision of pharmacy technician personnel to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications to patient care areas
  • Leverage software and technology within the department and enterprise to minimize chances of medication errors and provide for efficient medication delivery
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Hospital Pharmacy
