Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
 

Cardinal Health manages the retail pharmacy at Central Maine Medical Center and we are currently hiring for a PRN pharmacy technician to work "as needed" during facility hours. Facility hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am-7:00pm and Saturday, 8:00am-4:00pm.

Maintains professional working relationships, with all medical personnel.

Understands the requirements of working in a pharmacy.

Be available to the customer/patients and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude when dealing with customers.

Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Organizes and assists pharmacist.

Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed.

Other duties as assigned.

High school degree or equivalent preferred.

Maine Pharmacy Technician license/registration.

National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred.

Prior pharmacy technician experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets.

Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks.

Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area.

Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications.

Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution.

Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.

Adheres to all quality guidelines.

Works under moderate degree of supervision.

Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor.

Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor.

Anticipated hourly range: $17.80 per hour - $25.40 per hour.

Bonus eligible: No
