Pharmacy Technician Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is a key member of the Northern Light Pharmacy team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standardized training programs for pharmacy technicians
  • Manage the technician schedule and allocate resources to meet the needs of the pharmacy
  • Support the development of procedures and workflows to enhance the experience of pharmacy technicians
  • Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and billing tasks
  • Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians, including one-on-one coaching and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy Technician Manager and HR to develop and implement performance improvement plans
  • Monitor productivity and direct daily workflow to ensure efficient operations
  • Participate in interviews and provide recommendations to the hiring manager

Requirements:

  • Two years of retail pharmacy technician experience in a leadership role
  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Working Conditions:

  • Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds
