Job Description

The Data Warehouse Architect will play a crucial role in driving and coordinating the technical execution of enterprise data warehouse solutions and services. This includes understanding business requirements, solution design, data extraction, transformation, and integration architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support.

Responsibilities
  • Elicit requirements from business users, create work breakdown structures, plan, and execute deliverables.
  • Investigate, analyze, and understand data contents of source data systems.
  • Understand, use, and adhere to dimensional modeling techniques for data warehouse design.
  • Research, evaluate, identify alternative approaches, recommend, design, and code efficient and effective solutions for challenging problems.
  • Define and improve coding standards, comply with standards and guidelines related to design, construction, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills and bring communication skills, creativity, and problem-solving skills to a challenging environment.
  • Understand dependencies and timing issues between source systems and data warehouse operations.
  • Work directly with business process experts, business managers, BI analysts, and IT leadership to understand requirements for data warehouse development projects.
  • Identify opportunities in processes, system capabilities, and delivery methodologies for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
  • 7+ years of practical experience with any ETL tool with complex transformation business rules implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience with SSIS or ADF, Talend.
  • 1+ year of experience in implementing and supporting DW in any cloud platform.
  • 3+ years of practical experience with writing SQL queries, including complex queries.
  • 5+ years of practical experience working on data warehouse projects using dimensional modeling.
  • Ability to analyze existing SSIS code for improvements, enhancements, conversion, and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability in collecting and documenting requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability and skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to execute data warehouse tasks in a timely manner without guidance.
  • Ability to lead walk-throughs of design documents.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with data warehouse design and development in a manufacturing company.
  • Experience in using SAP ERP as a source system.
  • Experience in cloud DW – Snowflake and Azure Cloud Platform using Azure Data Factory, Talend, Fivetran/dbt, or Matillion.
