Job Description

As a key member of the Global Workforce Operations team at Avery Dennison, the Payroll & Process Specialist plays a critical role in executing payroll, data, and reporting services. This position requires a deep understanding of relevant systems, processes, and policies to ensure seamless execution.

This role demands a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis to support key HR decisions. The Payroll & Process Specialist will identify and resolve operational issues, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient HR services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute day-to-day payroll-related tasks, working closely with Avery Dennison's outsourced payroll partner(s) to ensure quality inputs and outputs.
  • Support local HR, managers, and employees with payroll and HR processes, providing expert guidance and resolution to payroll team, HR, and department leadership.
  • Research routine payroll and timekeeping issues, providing resolution to payroll team, HR, and department leadership.
  • Drive increased productivity and compliance through process improvements, standardization, and simplification with external partners and businesses.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payments (salaries, statutory, and third-party).
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and quality to ensure compliance with relevant legal and Avery Dennison policy requirements.
  • Develop effective collaborations through strong interpersonal skills and proactive communication.
  • Provide ad-hoc operational support for assigned processes.
  • Ensure efficiency of technology in support of employee transaction processes.
  • Handle internal and external audit work and maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls where applicable.
  • Ensure payroll and associated processes are delivered accurately and on time, every time.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from a relevant field of study or equivalent knowledge or experience in HR/payroll (3-5 years); experience with payroll processing in multi-state preferred.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrable ability to organize and analyze data.
  • Maintains confidentiality and applies discretion where required.
  • Service-oriented and passionate about improving the employee experience.
