Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Interventional Radiology / Special Procedure Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acquiring, manipulating, and processing computer-enhanced and radiographic images using Interventional Radiology equipment.
  • Communicating with patients to obtain informed consent, relevant clinical history, and ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Radiologists, referring physicians, and fellow technologists to select appropriate procedural protocols.
  • Coordinating patient care activities effectively.
  • Preparing appropriate tray setups and performing surgical scrub procedures with a comprehensive understanding of sterile techniques.
  • Administering IV contrast injections, starting IVs, and monitoring patients under conscious sedation in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Demonstrating age-appropriate care skills as defined by the patient population served.


Qualifications:
Graduation from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program is required.
Current ARRT (R) credential is necessary, along with demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional and vascular anatomy and the ability to recognize normal and abnormal variants.
Knowledge of radiation safety protocols is essential.
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association is required.
Current ACLS certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire is necessary.
Current RTRCV certification or the ability to obtain it is required, as well as current VIR certification or the ability to obtain it within twenty-four months of hire. Previous experience as a staff technologist is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in vascular/interventional imaging.
