Radiologic Technologist Duties:
Capture x-ray images of designated body areas as instructed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Guide and instruct patients throughout the x-ray process.Conduct x-ray procedures using portable machines as required by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
Process images for radiologists' review and interpretation in accordance with established protocols.
Prepare and maintain patient rooms by changing linens, restocking supplies, and sanitizing tables and equipment to ensure a clean and efficient working environment.
Safeguard patients from unnecessary radiation exposure by utilizing lead shields and adhering to safety protocols.Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages, and assessing potential allergies to ensure compliance with departmental guidelines.
Maintain accurate patient records by purging or updating film jackets and filing reports or film files as necessary.
Ensure imaging and processing equipment is well-maintained by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and notifying supervisors of any equipment malfunctions.Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, required.
Successful completion of an accredited radiological training program and eligibility for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
Current state license/certification, required.Basic Life Support Certification, or ability to obtain certification within one month of employment, required.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar healthcare setting, preferred.
