Vice Chancellor for Equity and Diversity

The University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Vice Chancellor for Equity and Diversity. This key position will play a critical role in advancing the university's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and will be responsible for leading efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable campus environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. They will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity and Diversity, and will work closely with senior leaders across the university to advance the institution's diversity and inclusion goals.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree or doctoral degree in a related field, and will have a minimum of ten years of experience in equity and diversity program-building and administration leadership within a large, complex environment. They will have a strong working knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices, concepts, and programs, as well as relevant regulatory environment considerations and national trends, particularly relating to higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within a large public research university, preferably with an academic health system, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will also have a record of ensuring that organizational resources are aligned to optimize the ability to reach institutional priorities and are managed responsibly. They will have demonstrated experience leading change across a unit, department, or institution, and will have a commitment to making higher education more inclusive.
