Position Overview

Kauai Mechanical Inc., a reputable mechanical contracting firm, is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to become part of their team as an Experienced HVAC Service Specialist within the Service Department.

The Experienced HVAC Service Specialist operates under the guidance of the Service Department Manager and the Service Department Foreman. The main responsibility of this role is to conduct diagnostics and repairs on a variety of HVAC systems, commercial refrigeration units, and control mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and rectify HVAC issues, including the installation and replacement of components.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems as required.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in pinpointing and isolating issues, effectively communicating necessary actions for resolution.
  • Provide cost estimates for installations, repairs, and services to clients.
  • Interpret and apply electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring layouts.
  • Engage confidently with customers, serving as a liaison between them and the office.
  • Execute work with a strong emphasis on Safety and Quality standards.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized job site, ensuring the customer’s location is cleaner upon departure.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work vehicle.
  • Document work performed and parts utilized accurately within the company CRM.
  • Lead larger repair projects and job sites that necessitate multiple technicians.
  • Uphold safety performance and compliance with programs.
  • Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse personality types.
  • Attention to detail and capability to meet deadlines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC-related fields.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to address multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Starting at $51/hour, commensurate with experience
