Position Overview:

IFO Group is in search of a dedicated Environmental Engineer to enhance our innovative team. This position presents a valuable opportunity to contribute to a growing firm that addresses complex client needs and challenges. The chosen candidate will engage in technically demanding site assessments and remediation initiatives, focusing on environmental compliance and safety in industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Operations & Site Assessments: Conduct environmental sampling (including surface water, groundwater, soil, and air quality) and supervise subcontractors during field activities. This role entails approximately 70% fieldwork, which may involve travel and overnight stays.
  • Project Implementation: Execute project tasks related to comprehensive investigations and remediation across various media (air, water, soil). Work will occur on sites with construction equipment and potential environmental hazards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough field notes and documentation to accurately reflect field operations and findings.
  • Communication & Coordination: Effectively liaise with colleagues, management, clients, and regulatory bodies. Assist in project logistics with laboratories, drillers, and equipment suppliers as necessary.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and meeting physical examination requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of pertinent experience in environmental sampling, site assessments, or remediation efforts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong work ethic with the capability to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours, with the ability to travel and stay overnight as needed.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and remain active for extended durations.
  • Must successfully complete a HAZWOPER physical and be medically fit to use a tight-fitting respirator.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
