We are currently seeking a Safety and Security Operations Coordinator to oversee our security team and ensure a secure, safe, and peaceful environment for all associates and properties.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri (Non-Smoking Campus)

Shift:

1st Shift – Monday-Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm (Overtime as required)

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct regular inspections throughout the facility to guarantee security and prioritize employee safety.
  • Supervise all Security Personnel, assigning additional tasks, managing time records, and addressing recognition or disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Monitor associate traffic at entry points.
  • Familiarize with active and terminated associate listings to assist in reporting attendance issues to department leaders.
  • Represent Melaleuca professionally to vendors, associates, and management.
  • Ensure proper handling of personal property (i.e., signed and accounted for).
  • Control key distribution within the facility, ensuring it is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Promptly report hazardous conditions (e.g., loose carpets, icy walkways, spills, broken glass) to Maintenance staff.
  • Receive deliveries from various carriers and ensure proper distribution to associates.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Melaleuca policies and procedures (e.g., Evacuation Routes, Parking Procedures).
  • Perform consistent security inspections throughout the shift and report any suspicious activities to Leadership.
  • Keep a daily log of all activities during the shift.
  • Review and update procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual.
  • Clear ice and snow from walkways and apply ice melt as necessary.
  • Report directly to the Director of HR and perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage staff by performing duties such as recommending employment decisions (hiring, termination, promotions), interviewing candidates, providing training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, and conducting associate meetings.

Qualifications
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Minimum of two years of security experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory or shift lead role.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Typing speed of 30+ words per minute.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Proficient written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Visual acuity to read reports and computer screens.
  • Skill in managing conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Willingness to work extra hours and overtime as needed.
