We are seeking a skilled Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Optima Engineering. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the proposal process by providing input on design options, project schedules, and code review.
  • Perform site visits to gather information on existing conditions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and designers to prepare construction drawings and calculations.
  • Perform quality control review analyses to ensure final documents and specifications meet client expectations.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary coordination and manage final reviews/approvals between disciplines and agencies.
  • Continue involvement through the construction process, including submittal review, RFI response, field visits, and closeout documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience on Higher Ed, Municipal, K-12, or similar Commercial projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina, or ability to obtain your PE in North Carolina within 6 months.
