Job Title: Assistant Professor in Public Health

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor in Public Health to join our faculty team at the University of Southern Maine. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in public health, including American Health Systems, Health Policy, and Health Disparities & Social Justice.

About the Position:

This is a tenure-track position that requires a doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, research, and service, with a focus on health management and policy or social and behavioral health.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public health, including American Health Systems, Health Policy, and Health Disparities & Social Justice.
  • Develop and lead academic programs in public health, including curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Provide service to the university and the profession, including committee work and professional organization involvement.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • Teaching experience in public health, including course development and delivery.
  • Research experience in public health, including publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Service experience in public health, including committee work and professional organization involvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in health management and policy or social and behavioral health.
  • Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Experience in research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
