Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Service Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts, as well as resolving complex customer service issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts.
  • Resolve complex customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand revenue cycle responsibilities, insurance benefits, insurance verification, and billing patient's insurance timely following all payer policies/guidelines.
  • Perform timely follow-up to ensure maximum reimbursement for services.
  • Work complex accounts, including insurance denials and appeal when necessary.
  • Accept incoming inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding benefits and billing questions.
  • Ability to work with and communicate with clinical staff, patients, insurance companies, and any others involved in the treatment plan.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years in an office clerical setting, of which 1 year should be in a hospital or clinic business office.
  • Preferred: 2 years in a hospital or clinic business office.
