Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial clearance process is completed efficiently and effectively. This includes scheduling and registration activities, insurance eligibility, and point-of-service collections. You will work closely with patients, families, and other customers to deliver an exceptional experience and create a welcoming environment. Your excellent communication skills and ability to articulate information clearly will be essential in this role. You will also be responsible for coordinating phone consults for providers, facilitating transfers to other facilities, and scheduling same-day outpatient appointments as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for answering phones, faxing, copying, and printing documents, as well as directing phone calls from interdisciplinary departments to the appropriate staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide scheduling and registration support for patients.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience to patients, families, and other customers.
  • Manage daily worklists and resolve assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Fairview Commitments related to Respect to People and Continuous Improvement.

Qualifications:
  • One or more years of customer service experience and applicable computer knowledge and skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary Education.
  • One or more years of experience in a clinical setting with registration experience.
  • Previous Epic experience.
