Job Description:
Tesla is seeking a highly skilled and motivated mechanical design engineer to work on the Autopilot and Electronics Product Design team for the Tesla Bot. The engineer will lead the mechanical system design, enabling compute, connectivity, and similar features.

This role involves leading cross-functional teams to define product requirements and develop implementations. Key responsibilities include participating in prototype builds, component fabrication, testing, and validation efforts. Hands-on support and data analysis are also essential skills for this position. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing designs in CAD for both detailed parts and assemblies, performing tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Proficiency in CAD, particularly Catia, is preferred. Knowledge of design of plastic injection molded, sheet metal stamping, and cast parts is also required. Experience in drafting 2D drawings with GD&T and proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis are additional assets. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, are essential for this role.

Expected Compensation: $104,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
