About the Role

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a skilled Coding Integrity Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our coding practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate coding of facility encounters, consistent with industry best practices
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for coding functions to ensure compliant billing and optimal reimbursement
  • Work with service areas to ensure charges are established and coding is maintained for proper processing
  • Coordinate with billing office to minimize billing edits and insurance rejections and denials
  • Provide high-quality training to physicians, clinicians, and other staff members on coding practices

Requirements

  • College coursework, equivalent to an associate degree, in a medical or business field
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification, with CPC-Hospital
  • At least 4 years of experience in facility coding
