Overview of the Firearms Inventory Auditor Role:

The Firearms Inventory Auditor plays a crucial role within our Firearms Department across various locations nationwide. This position is dedicated to our Retail Stores that maintain Federal Firearms Licenses.
As a Firearms Inventory Auditor, your primary responsibility will be to verify and validate firearms inventories, ensuring adherence to established internal policies and Federal Firearm Regulations. You will meticulously document and report any discrepancies identified during the examination of records and inventories, as well as any suspicious purchases or potential trafficking activities. A solid understanding of firearms and Federal Firearms Regulations is beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities: (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not all-inclusive.)
  • Engage in effective communication with colleagues and supervisors, demonstrating respect and utilizing appropriate communication tools.
  • Conduct audits of firearm records (ATF Form 4473), Acquisition & Disposition Records, and internal operational documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement necessary corrections or edits based on findings from the Firearm Audit.
  • Compile Firearm Inventory Audit reports that include all required information and corrections.
  • Complete assigned training successfully.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and current auto insurance
  • Reliable transportation and ability to meet a 75% travel requirement; both locally and nationally by air as needed
  • Willingness and ability to become a listed Responsible Person with ATF, including passing a Federal Background check
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in basic math calculations
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong communication abilities, including verbal, non-verbal, and active listening skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated excellent work ethic
  • Computer literate and capable of operating common office equipment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience with the ATF
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing - Frequently during Firearms Inventory Audits.
  • Sitting - Occasionally during inventory audits to complete the Firearm Audit.
  • Bending - Frequently in various directions, adhering to proper bending techniques.
  • Reaching - Frequently as necessary to complete firearm inventory verification.
  • Walking - Frequently within the store.
  • Climbing - Frequently to access elevated storage areas.
  • Stooping - Frequently.
  • Kneeling - Occasionally.
  • Lifting/Carrying - Due to the nature of the pawn industry and the diverse range of firearms handled, you will be lifting and carrying firearms and cases. The frequency and weight of these items will vary. Employees must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Tool Usage - No tools are utilized on a regular or routine basis during a typical workday.
Definitions:

Occasional = 20% of time or less

Frequent = 20-75% of the time

Continuous = 75% of the time or more
