OPPORTUNITY

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will work closely with the Board of Directors to advance our mission by enhancing program effectiveness, driving revenue growth, and strengthening community engagement. The CEO will represent the organization to various stakeholders, manage Board functions, and act as the primary ambassador to uphold and enhance our reputation as a leading nonprofit.

The ideal candidate will have a proven history of successful fundraising from diverse sources, including individual donors, foundations, and government entities. Experience in fostering an inclusive organizational culture that values transparency, collaboration, and diversity is essential. Strong operational and financial leadership skills are critical, along with the ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fundraising Leadership: The CEO will spearhead efforts to innovate and enhance the organization’s fundraising strategy, focusing on diversifying revenue streams and ensuring sustainability. This includes nurturing existing donor relationships and pursuing new funding opportunities through compelling campaigns.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborating with the Board and staff, the CEO will bring the organization’s vision to fruition, setting ambitious goals and operational plans to achieve long-term impact while fostering a supportive culture.
  • Board Engagement: The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to establish a clear vision for the future, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on governance and organizational health.
  • Financial Oversight: The CEO will enhance the organization’s financial health by ensuring transparency and accountability in revenue generation and expenditure, while safeguarding assets and integrity.
  • Community Engagement: As the organization’s primary spokesperson, the CEO will enhance external relations and brand visibility, building partnerships and representing the organization in various forums.
  • Team Development: The CEO will lead, mentor, and support a high-performing team, ensuring that equity and diversity are central to all initiatives and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Operational Excellence: The CEO will assess and improve organizational infrastructure and processes to support growth and enhance communication across departments.
  • Technological Innovation: The CEO will advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies to improve operations and outreach, ensuring the organization remains secure and scalable.

PRIORITIES

  • Building Relationships: The new CEO will prioritize understanding the organization’s dynamics, engaging with staff, students, and stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Enhancing Fundraising: The CEO will focus on maintaining a strong presence in the community to secure funding continuity and develop strategies for new funding opportunities.
  • Ensuring Organizational Resilience: The CEO will implement a sustainable leadership structure and operational plan to support the organization’s growth and mission over the long term.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for the mission and a commitment to social impact.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • A proven track record in fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.
  • Experience in a CEO or executive role within the nonprofit sector or a mission-driven organization is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of the nonprofit landscape and its unique challenges.
  • Ability to leverage technology for innovation and growth.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to articulate a compelling vision based on data.
  • Experience managing complex budgets effectively.
