About the Role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Geologist/Environmental Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental compliance monitoring and assessment team, you will be responsible for completing field activities, including:

  • Assisting with and leading field sampling activities for groundwater, surface water, air, and soil monitoring/assessment projects.
  • Monitoring soil boring installation and bedrock coring activities.
  • Installing groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers using various drilling methods.
  • Field screening of various media for evidence of environmental impacts.
  • Documenting groundwater monitoring well and piezometer installation activities.

You will also assist with reporting activities, including:

  • Managing and interpreting environmental data.
  • Developing potentiometric surface maps and geologic cross sections.
  • Report development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field (M.S. a plus).
  • Professional experience in environmental geology or a related field (5-8 years).
  • Ability to speak and write professionally.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Drilling and environmental media sampling experience.
  • Installation of monitoring wells, including selection of screen intervals based on field observation.
  • Familiarity with the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP).
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations training.
