Field Service Engineer - Remote Opportunity (up to 50% domestic travel)

Direct Hire Position

Compensation: $110-150K + 20% Bonus

The Field Service Engineer acts as a vital customer-facing representative of the digital products and automation engineering division. This role involves supporting electric actuation tasks for all digital solutions that interface with external host control systems. The engineer will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and commissioning customer network setups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver services such as troubleshooting, analysis, inspection, and resolving compatibility challenges between FLS digital offerings and client control systems (DCS, SIS, PLC).
  • Possess a robust background in assessing instrument performance and connectivity to control systems, including various communication protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, etc.).
  • Assist clients in designing new applications, transitioning from outdated technologies, and enhancing solutions across multiple sectors (Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical, Water/Wastewater, Mining).
  • Utilize diagnostic systems for predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Support sales and application engineering initiatives by offering pre-sales assistance, problem resolution, and preparing proof of concept demonstrations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a technical problem solver with familiarity in systems and networks (DCS, SIS, AMS), including the integration of actuation, valves, and instruments.
  • Thorough understanding of instrumentation and process control, including elements within a flow loop (PID control, flowmeters, various process sensors, transmitters, valves, analog and digital communications, DCS, PLC, and asset management systems).
  • Extensive knowledge of major DCS and related Asset Management Systems (Emerson DeltaV/AMS; Yokogawa Centum VP/PRM; Honeywell Experion/FDM).
