Position Overview

AdventHealth Central Florida is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic fellowship-trained hematologist oncologist to enhance our team in Orlando.

  • Primary focus on inpatient care at AdventHealth Orlando, delivering daily consultative services and managing a 36-bed hematology/oncology unit.
  • Responsible for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.
  • Participate in a shared call rotation with fellow physicians, including weekend coverage.
  • Collaborate with a team of advanced practice providers and receive support from other specialists in the practice.
  • Access to cutting-edge research, clinical trials (including phase 1), tumor boards, and a multidisciplinary care team comprising nurse navigators, social workers, chaplains, and palliative care specialists.
  • Engage with leading experts and innovative treatments in the Hematology Oncology field.

Position Requirements:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification/eligibility in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

The AdventHealth Cancer Institute provides a comprehensive range of services, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pediatric oncology, neuro-oncology, gynecologic oncology, and bone marrow transplant, alongside research initiatives.

AdventHealth Orlando has been serving the Central Florida community since 1908, dedicated to extending the healing ministry of Christ. As the oldest and largest healthcare system in the region, we operate nine hospital campuses in the Greater Orlando area.

Practice Overview

This employment opportunity includes call coverage and competitive compensation. Additional benefits encompass occurrence-based malpractice coverage, CME days and allowances, a 403b retirement plan, health insurance for physicians and their families, and relocation assistance. This practice is part of AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG), which employs over 900 physicians across more than 70 specialties, allowing physicians to concentrate on clinical practice.

Hospital Overview

AdventHealth Orlando is a 1,400-bed quaternary facility with nearly 200 ICU beds, centrally located among eight other hospitals in the Greater Orlando area, totaling approximately 3,000 beds. AdventHealth operates numerous facilities across nine states, with 30 located in Florida. Our mission remains to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ.

Since its inception, AdventHealth Orlando has provided care to the Central Florida community and patients globally, managing around 300,000 patients annually. As the primary campus for over 1,000 physicians, AdventHealth Orlando features nationally recognized Centers of Excellence in Cancer, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Diabetes, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, and Abdominal and Cardiothoracic Transplant. The recent addition of the Ginsburg Tower, a $255 million 15-story facility, houses the AdventHealth Cardiovascular Institute and a large emergency department designed to enhance patient care.
