Position Title: Commissioning Technician
Objective:
The role involves executing, supporting, and documenting various tasks related to building commissioning. A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with basic engineering principles, is essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and self-motivated, capable of effectively documenting the commissioning process for commercial and institutional projects.
Essential Knowledge:
A degree in engineering (BS, EIT) or a related field is required. Relevant work experience or certifications may be accepted as a substitute.
Reporting Structure:
Authority limits are established by the Department Manager and Principal-In-Charge. Changes to the scope of work or deviations from contractual documents require prior approval from the Principal.
Work Environment:
This position necessitates performing essential functions within an office setting. Responsibilities include supervising staff, accessing databases, interacting with colleagues and clients, and utilizing equipment, all of which cannot be accomplished through telecommuting. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance are mandatory.

Documentation: Reviews submittal documents for alignment with project requirements.
Specification Development: Creates commissioning requirements and project specifications.
Testing: Prepares and reviews pre-functional and functional testing forms.
Code Compliance: Develops and reviews systems manuals and assists in compiling commissioning reports.
Site Visits: Performs commissioning duties according to ASHRAE guidelines, including site observations and functional testing.
