Role Summary

As a Software Architect at Five9, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform. You will collaborate with diverse engineering teams, offering both technical and architectural insights, while working closely with business stakeholders to introduce new features and functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and maintain our API linter by refining rules, providing guidance, and establishing processes.
  • Contribute to service reliability by developing tools, best practices, and documentation.
  • Assist product managers by improving our internal self-service analytics tools built on Looker and BigQuery.
  • Plan, document, and support technical proof of concepts, ensuring clear objectives and success metrics.
  • Mentor and collaborate with developers on software development methodologies, technical implementations, and voice technologies.
  • Engage with various departments within Five9, including Architecture leads, Product Owners, Operations, and InfoSec, to deliver high-value solutions for our clients.
  • Identify existing challenges and provide guidance to enhance scalability, fault tolerance, security, performance, resource efficiency, and overall development quality.
  • Support the establishment of technical guilds within Five9 to create centers of excellence for technical expertise.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software architecture, including the documentation of design specifications and guidance documents.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Agile/Lean and DevOps methodologies.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software design and development, including n-tier architecture, web services, and object-oriented design using languages such as Java and Typescript, along with frameworks like Spring and Spring Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing SaaS/PaaS architectures with a strong understanding of cloud technologies, including Kubernetes and security.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, multitenant infrastructures, and event-driven programming.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining large-scale enterprise applications in high-availability environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and logically.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Contact Center or Call Center software.
  • Experience with VOIP technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Work Arrangement:

This position offers a fully remote option for candidates residing outside specific geographical limits. For those within a certain radius, a hybrid work model may apply.
