School Nurse: Uplift Meridian Preparatory

Uplift Education is seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, including routine, urgent, and emergent care. You will also be responsible for complying with all regulations and guidelines set by the Texas BON and local health authorities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care to students, including routine, urgent, and emergent care
- Comply with all regulations and guidelines set by the Texas BON and local health authorities
- Provide basic health information to students and staff
- Assist with enrollment, attend ARDs and 504 meetings, and develop and implement IHPs as necessary
- Collaborate with all departments across the network to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff
- Conduct health screenings for students as required by Texas Department of Health, Texas Education Agency, and charter policy
- Make referrals as necessary
- Plan and implement an ongoing evaluation of Health Services programs and make adaptations based on the results
- Instruct students and staff in safety, health, and wellness
- Conduct campus-level health trainings
- Administer vaccines according to the TVFC Program guidelines
- Work collaboratively with school staff, physicians, parents, and community
- Serve on the Crisis Intervention and Emergency Management Teams for the school
- Ensure compliance with all immunization records in compliance with State guidelines
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
- 3-5 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse required
- Valid Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing, in Texas, from the Texas BON preferred, LVN license required
- American Heart Association BLS certification required; BLS Instructor preferred
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Knowledge of project management processes preferred
The environment requires close proximity to other employees, frequent interruptions, extended periods of time viewing a computer screen, and noise levels from moderate to high. Travel within the Uplift network is required. May require someone outside work in the heat or cold. Some weekends will be required.
Compensation$46,200-LVN/$59,000-RN
