About the Job

The Transtec Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-time Pavement Testing Specialist to join our field data collection team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting pavement-related tests, ensuring accurate and valid data collection, and working closely with our clients to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pavement-related tests independently or with team members, including Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD), Pavement Friction, Pavement Surface Texture, and Pavement Smoothness Profiles.
  • Travel nationwide, often driving cross-country with test equipment, and work in diverse weather conditions, primarily outdoors or in vehicles.
  • Diagnose, repair, verify, and maintain equipment using available resources, and perform vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
  • Replenish consumables and organize supplies, and ensure that all test equipment is in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Field Testing: Read and follow test procedures rigorously, travel frequently, including international travel (90% travel), and drive long distances safely.
  • Technical Skills: Read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, diagnose and repair electrical issues, and have basic computer skills for operating equipment and preparing reports.
  • Physical Ability: Lift up to 90 lbs, work on hands and knees when necessary, and be safety-conscious, especially in traffic and construction environments.
  • Additional Skills: Effective communicator with managers and clients, and have mechanical, electrical, and organizational skills.
