About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Ascension Health. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct behavioral health patient care, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing or assisting with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes in condition and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health preferred.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
