Position Overview
As a Proposal Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Impulse Space delivers exceptional proposals for competitive business ventures, particularly focusing on opportunities within U.S. Government programs. This position not only emphasizes proposal writing but also requires collaboration with diverse teams across the organization, including Engineering, Finance, Legal, Mission Management, and Business Development. You will partner with fellow Business Development team members to assess opportunities, devise solutions, and communicate proposal strategies effectively throughout the company. This technical position necessitates the ability to comprehend and summarize intricate technical requirements documents as part of the proposal development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute significantly to the creation of technical proposals, serving both as a writer and editor.
  • Oversee the proposal process with a focus on continuous enhancement and efficiency for future proposal initiatives.
  • Analyze and distill complex requirements from new customer opportunities.
  • Segment proposal tasks and manage the collection of inputs from technical specialists within the organization.
  • Establish and uphold proposal timelines.
  • Assist in the creation of supporting visuals and materials for proposals.
  • Review proposals for clarity, precision, and readability.
  • Ensure adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Maintain a repository of frequently utilized proposal information.
  • Support other teams with writing, editing, and communication tasks, including technical white papers when feasible.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a writing and/or editing capacity.
  • 2+ years of experience in publishing professional documents.
  • Strong ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Expertise in planning and managing schedules effectively.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Degree in engineering, science, journalism, English, technical writing, or professional writing.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in writing government proposals or grants.
  • Technical knowledge related to the Aerospace sector.
  • Proven ability to manage extensive writing projects.
  • Experience in composing academic papers or technical white papers.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations.
  • Exceptional English writing skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is advantageous.

Additional Information:
Compensation structures are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual compensation and base pay are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, full-time employees may also qualify for long-term incentives, such as stock options, and have access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
