Job Summary

Champion Home Builders is seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. As a Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed construction drawings and designs for homes, using computer-assisted design (CAD) equipment and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and engineering data received from Sales and customers.
  • Draft detailed construction drawings and installations, including walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Use CAD software to create accurate and detailed drawings.
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality Control staff to resolve design details and problems.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and residential building codes in the US.
  • Generate calculations for analysis of selected designs using approved software.
  • Submit drawings to third-party agencies for approval.
Requirements
  • Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school with advanced training in AutoCAD, or two to five years of work experience using AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software and technologies.
