Job Title: Construction Takeoff Estimator

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking an experienced Construction Takeoff Estimator to join our team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting bids for projects related to the manufacturing and supplying of precast pipe, box culverts, manholes, and structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for standard and special products on all projects bid.
  • Maintain current cost information on materials, supplies, and services purchased.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production Functions to stay up-to-date on current design and fabrication techniques that affect pipe or fittings costs.
  • Assist in revising estimating procedures to reflect accurate costs.
  • Provide cost analysis of alternate design, procedural, or production methods that affect products in the marketplace.
Requirements:
  • High level knowledge, skills, and ability in estimating for proposals of manufactured steel and concrete pipe.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to assess site exposures/construction risks and reflect these in an estimate.
  • Ability to identify constructability issues through the estimating process.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a strong business, construction management, and delivery methodologies background.
