A Day in the Life

As a Bookkeeping Associate specializing in Tax Controversy, your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Providing expert consulting services for various federal tax matters, including audits, collection issues, and resolution services.
  • Assisting in the management and execution of client-related IRS projects, including audits, appeals, collections, and penalty abatement, which involves reviewing client data and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Generating reports, returns, and other required documents.
  • Engaging with IRS audit, collection, and appeals personnel regarding client matters.
  • Overseeing client deadlines and coordinating workflows among multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Participating in professional association meetings and forums to enhance your expertise.

Who You Are

You possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline. You have at least one year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. A valid Enrolled Agent (EA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required. You are knowledgeable about general ledger accounting principles and federal/state payroll regulations. Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are strong, and you excel at managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines through effective prioritization. You build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and clients. Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks, and various software applications is essential. You must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and fair pay. Eide Bailly adheres to all local and state regulations regarding salary range disclosures. Final compensation is determined by factors such as geographic location, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.

Salary Range: $67,000 - $84,000

In addition to base salary, Eide Bailly offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, extensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) profit sharing, life and disability insurance, a lifestyle spending account, certification incentives, education assistance, and a referral program.
