Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their team in the Emory Decatur Respiratory Department. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality respiratory care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations, including routine ventilatory and artificial airway treatments.
  • Assist physicians and perform routine respiratory care activities as necessary, including administering aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments.
  • Select, assemble, and check respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation, and cleanliness, and perform minor repairs to correct malfunctions.
  • Accurately and completely document respiratory care by following established charting procedures to show patient progress or changes in condition.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including attending educational in-services and working with the manager to formulate a plan for professional growth.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS and/or NRP may be required in designated departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in respiratory care.
