Job Overview

TAK Communications is a leading national telecommunications and broadband service provider that offers full value chain communications services and solutions to its customers across the US. We are seeking a Special Projects Technician to join our team in Madison, WI.

This role will involve assisting with various projects, including multi-dwelling unit (MDU) service calls, cable, internet, and security product installs, maintenance, and upkeep of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
  • Track and manage inventory for all equipment and parts
  • Place orders and manage deliveries, stocking shelves
  • Issue and return equipment to technicians daily and weekly
  • Complete daily reconciliations of technician equipment levels
  • Participate in company vehicle management, cleaning and detailing vehicles, and delivering vehicles requiring repair to the repair shop
  • Assign uniforms, tools, and safety gear to technicians, ensuring invoices are signed
  • Perform installations and changes of service
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns
  • Ensure products and services are working properly to drive a positive customer experience
  • Prioritize, organize, and efficiently complete tasks to meet deadlines

Requirements:

  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • General construction experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs
  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color, and accurately utilize measuring devices
  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)
  • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces, and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs
  • Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and tools
  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely
  • Valid driver's license
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
