Electrical Sales Representative

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at nVent. As a Regional Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our presence in the East US (all states east of the Mississippi River) and Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Performance: Achieve and exceed sales quotas for Non-Metallic enclosures in the assigned territory, including direct and through distribution sales.
- Channel Development: Ensure the electrical distribution channel is trained on how to sell Non-Metallic products, and analyze and supervise activities of competitors on Non-Metallic products.
- Business Development: Partner with the category team to identify new product categories/markets to drive new business, and provide reporting and forecasting for business planning purposes.
- Customer Relationships: Maintain relationships with customers and distributors to understand their requirements and develop appropriate solutions to meet their needs.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a sales strategy that focuses on the channel, end-users, and installers, enabling territory management and sales growth.
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Continuously scan for prospects with current or new customers to achieve new sales, expand offerings within the account, and populate the account pipeline consistently and on a timely basis.
- Product Training: Provide extensive product and solutions training for customers and distributors.
- Customer Support: Respond to customer questions and provide follow-up to ensure resolution.
- Market Intelligence: Understand current market relationships and partnerships with customers and distributors, and maintain knowledge of competitors' activities throughout the assigned territory.
- Education: University degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Ideally 5+ years of direct OEM outside sales experience in the electrical, commercial, or industrial market, preferably selling through a channel model.
- Travel: Ability to work from a home office and travel 40-60% of the time, on average, in the US (all states east of the Mississippi River + Canada).
- Skills: Experience selling into marine, solar, outdoor, industrial, and contractor markets is helpful but not a must-have. Ability to sell to multiple types of customers, including distributors, consultants, engineers, end users, OEMs, MROs, and contractors.
- Partnership: Demonstrates partnerships in a team environment to drive the strategic plan, consistently demonstrating alignment to interpersonal strategy to advance opportunities.
- Opportunity Definition: Ability to define and quantify opportunities through customer research.
