Job Title: Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

Vertex Aerospace LLC is seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical Hardware Engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing rugged military electrical systems for ground, shipboard, and/or airborne applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom circuit card assemblies (CCA) and integrate existing Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
  • Develop system architecture for Department of Defense (DOD) applications
  • Perform lead contributions of the design, analysis, simulation, test, integration, and fielding of digital electronic modules, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and/or CCAs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Architect electrical systems and subsystems, performing requirement review, analysis, and derivation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree in a STEM related discipline
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
  • Must have design, analysis, and/or test experience with military electronic systems
  • Must be proficient in electrical circuit analysis with experience using LTSpice (or similar), and other circuit simulation tools

Desired Skills:

  • Experience and working knowledge of Altium Designer in a collaboration environment
  • Excellent people skills working cooperatively in a team environment
  • Experience in the development and design of electronic circuit designs, multi-assembly system/unit design, processor designs a plus

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program
  • A minimum of 10 years of related professional experience with a Bachelor's in Engineering
  • A minimum of 7 years of related professional experience with a Master's in Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience with a PhD in Engineering

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.
