Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Manager to lead our front-end team. As a key member of our store operations, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage front-end associates to meet business traffic requirements and minimize customer inconvenience.
  • Assign tasks and duties to front-end associates during idle periods to optimize productivity.
  • Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by management.
  • Support and comply with all company safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Observe and report any abnormal customer behavior to management.
  • Secure front-end change drawers and protect company assets at all times.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and state and local health regulations.
  • Perform cashier and/or bagging functions as needed.
  • Perform service desk/kiosk and bookkeeper functions if trained.
Requirements
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions (18 years of age).
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service desk/kiosk.
Preferred Requirements
  • Promote customer goodwill by providing high standards in customer service and resolving issues quickly and courteously.
  • Handle cash pickups and change orders as requested and log as required.
  • Verify all customer IDs presented and observe store policies pertaining to the acceptance of checks, and the sale of tobacco/alcoholic beverages.
  • Provide customers and associates with hassle-free refunds while applying all applicable guarantees.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect.
Physical Requirements
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift.
  • Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Work in and out of inclement weather when necessary.
  • Gather up to five shopping carts and push them to designated areas.
