We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric services to incarcerated patients. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and contribute to the mission of providing quality care to every individual with compassion, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric services to inmate patients, including evaluations, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications in compliance with professional and company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services.
- Provide supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurses (if applicable) and consultation/training services to mental health and medical staff.
- Participate in involuntary medication of high-risk inmates and provide documentation of psychiatric services contacts as requested.
- Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to approved medication formulary and notifying appropriate staff of clinical or administrative concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Doctorate in psychiatry.
Experience
- Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.
Licenses/Certifications
- Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
- CPR Certified.
