Currently, Carmen operates five distinct campuses, each functioning as an independent charter school authorized by Milwaukee Public Schools or UW-Milwaukee.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is designed to report to the Senior Staff Accountant upon fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with the senior staff accountant to process and oversee accounts payable.
  • Monitor banking activities, including the uploading of transactions to Abila and cash reporting.
  • Facilitate school deposits by assisting school personnel and network staff in accurately recording and reporting deposits promptly.
  • Support grant tracking and reporting efforts.
  • Oversee the recording and reporting of private grants, gifts, and donations, working closely with staff involved in grant-making to gather necessary information for accounting and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting revenues received from authorizers and other sources by reviewing bank activities and related reports from authorizers and funders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Completes a wide range of administrative tasks in collaboration with the CFO, including managing a highly active calendar of appointments, preparing expense reports, and drafting correspondence that may be confidential.
  • Assists in managing the General & Administrative budget; organizes and maintains files efficiently.
  • Maintains a positive and respectful demeanor while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; addresses matters promptly, proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often under deadline pressures.
  • Conducts account reconciliations, particularly for credit cards and related accounts.
  • Handles deposits for schools.
  • Provides administrative support for benefits and payroll.
  • Manages purchasing activities.
  • Oversees grant management.
  • Handles donation processing.
