Accountant

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations and corporate management in achieving financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by applying generally accepted accounting principles to all transactions.
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and bank account reconciliations by the established due dates.
- Review cost center and chart of account structures, making recommendations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare, verify, and control the entering of journal entries to the general ledger.
- Evaluate subsidiary journals for errors and omissions, entering corrected data into the general ledger.
- Review monthly balance sheet and profit-and-loss statements for accuracy.
- Assist in coordinating monthly closing and production of statements to guarantee timely reporting.
- Review and update monthly closing procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Zero to three years of related experience and/or training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
